Photo Shoot at Josh Hair & Beauty 22/08/2010

My PR gave me a wakeup call at 8am. This was enough time for me to get ready for a shoot with JOSH HAIR AND BEAUTY SALON with the wonderful hairstylist SHADE OLONIYO styling my hair.

My girl Zi was the fashion stylist for the day while the award winning DESMOND MURRAY was the photographer. He’s one of the best around! NINA MALONE (Also a former Britain’s Next Top Model contestant) was also modelling. Nina’s a great person to work with. She’s always smiling and happy, I haven’t seen her in a while so it was good to catch up.

My look was a short bob and I was styled with clothes which were made with lots of lace. Very sexy!! I particularly liked the all in one with a lace jacket, which had very cool shoulder pads. I can’t wait to show you the pictures!!

I discovered a Fabulous App for the iPhone the other day, I swear by it! It’s fantastic, the ‘Sleep Cycle’ app. It programmes your sleeping pattern and wakes you up when you’re in your lightest point of sleep.

It really works, as long as you wake up as soon as you hear the alarm. Even if it wakes you up half an hour early!!

I was a bit irresponsible, again!!! I went to bed at 2am and was up at 6.45am, then rushed to get ready and was out of the house by 7.30am! I had to journey from Stratford to Essex. My arrival time was 8.30am. Perfect!

The studio location was out in the middle of nowhere! I arrived at the studio all filled with energy, ready to work hard to achieve the complete vision. I’m shooting a twelve page spread with model and friend ANYA JAMES for BLACK HAIR MAGAZINE, and maybe the front cover!

The theme was African Glam Rock. I modelled four different looks, I loved the styling. The patterns used for the garments were stunning.

The multi talented award winning hairdresser and photographer DESMOND MURRAY is taking the high fashion editorial pictures with make-up artist JO SUGAR.

The BLACK HAIR team are a beautiful, lovely group of people to work with and the day was a pleasure.

DESMOND MURRAY asked if I wanted to participate in a fashion show after the shoot at the LONDON COLLEGE OF FASHION. It was a little short notice but I agreed and headed back to London with DESMOND and JO SUGAR. They’ve worked together for fifteen years. So you can only imagine the strength of their  friendship.

At the show I was styled with dark eyes, extended hair, with a mask covering my face and a PVC dress, with a slit in black. It was so tight that I couldn’t wear anything underneath!! All the models had characters and I was the vampire’s wife.

I got home and had a nice soak in the bath with lots of Radox bubbles. My body felt relaxed as I unwound and gladly went to bed.
